I started this blog nearly 4 years ago after I got my pre-ordered copy of the book. It was tough time then, my little brother was seriously ill and died after couple of days after the first post. Cooking and blogging was my way to survive. I have been using baking and cooking as a therapy all my life. It makes you forget the pain, what ever the reason for it is.
As you can find out, my post eventually became less often. Time heals, not matter how cliché that is. I still miss my brother a lot, good food was near to his heart too.

There’s also other reasons for not to cook all recipes as the ingredients are not locally available and I don’t see it worth of buying for example fish imported from far away just to do the post. My allergies is one thing, unfortunately during the years I’ve managed to get more of those.
Aloitin tämän blogin lähes neljä vuotta sitten, saatuani käsiini ennakkotilaamani kopion kirjasta. Se oli rankkaa aikaa, pikkuveljeni oli vakavasti sairas ja kuoli pari päivää ensimmäisen blogitekstini jälkeen. Ruuanlaitto ja bloggaaminen oli tapani selviytyä. Olen käyttänyt leipomista ja kokkaamista terapiana koko elämäni ajan. Se saa sinut unohtamaan kivun, oli sen syy mikä hyvänsä.
Kuten huomaatte, blogitekstit harvenivat. Aika parantaa, niin kliseeltä kuin se kuulostaakin. Ikävöin yhä veljeäni, hänellekin hyvä ruoka oli lähellä sydäntä.
On myös toisia syitä, jonka takia en ole kokannut kaikkia reseptejä kirjasta. Raaka-aineita ei ole paikallisesti saatavilla enkä näe syytä miksi ostaisin esimerkiksi kaukaa tuotua kalaa, vain saadakseni taas yhden tekstin tehtyä. Allergiani ovat yksi syy, niitä olen valitettavasti saanut lisää vuosien varrella.
I’m going to end this blog to the reports of my four days course at River Cottage HQ. It’s been my dream for few years and will be true within few days.
Aion päättää tämän blogini kirjoittamalla neljän päivän kurssista River Cottagen ”päämajassa”. Se on ollut haaveeni muutaman vuoden ajan ja se toteutuu muutaman päivän kuluttua.
